LECTURER – SPECIALIST IN IT & AI

We are searching for a well-organized, innovative lecturer to join our academic department. The lecturer’s responsibilities include developing course material and curricula, inspiring meaningful discussions, attending conferences (locally and abroad), consulting with other academics and professionals, supervising graduate students, grading assignments, and being an active member of the institution.

The selected candidate will have an academic background in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Machine Learning, Blockchain or Information Technology with a strong interest in the field. The candidate we are looking for will have a strong recent background of continuous professional development in their own field of study and can demonstrate actions taken to remain relevant within the field.

To be successful as a lecturer, you should demonstrate superior listening and communication skills. Outstanding candidates are able to prepare and deliver powerful lectures and should be willing to collaborate with professionals in and outside of their discipline.

Lecturer Responsibilities:

• Preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, workshops, and seminars.
• Developing curricula and course material that can be used across a number of platforms.
• Collaborating with other academics and lecturers to improve teaching methods and expand knowledge base.
• Setting and grading assignments, tests, and exams
• Conducting research, and writing papers, proposals, journal articles, and books.
• Attending and participating in meetings, conferences, and other events in and outside of the institution.
• Participating in training opportunities and initiatives at the institution.
• Providing support to students and other colleagues.
• Staying current by reading widely and producing published work in the field.

Lecturer Requirements:

• A Ph.D. in the relevant discipline.
• Published work would be advantageous.

ENGLISH TEACHER

The Role :

Your Key Tasks Will Consist Of

In this role, you will plan, prepare and deliver the Ascencia Malta academic program through structured and interactive lessons, and we focus on Academic English, Business English and English for Specific Purposes such as English for workers in Tourism and Hospitality, English for HR or Leadership and Management.

• Lesson planning and preparation;
• Teaching classes every weekday following the Ascencia Malta methodology;
• Classroom Management,
• Facilitating testing during the course, including marking tests and weekly homework;
• Monitoring daily attendance and keeping up-to-date records and paperwork;
• Getting involved in social and cultural activities such as school parties, dinners and outings.

Qualifications And Requirements

• CELTA/CertTESOL or Higher Degree in English
• Enthusiastic, well organised
• Highly responsible, approachable, friendly, communicative
• Able to create a lively learning environment;
• Familiarity with topics in Tourism and Hospitality / HR / Leadership and Management
• ELT Permit
• Have the right to live and work in Malta
