As we approach the midpoint of 2025, one thing is certain for all of us here in Malta — summer has well and truly arrived! While some may be quietly lamenting the rising temperatures, others are already embracing beach days and sunshine. Amidst it all, our in-house Higher Education students are focused and determined, as they prepare to close out the Spring Semester with final assessments.
Simultaneously, we are delighted to welcome a new cohort of students, full of enthusiasm and ready to embark on their Summer Semester journey beginning 1st July. There’s a tangible sense of renewal and ambition in the air — a reminder of why we are so passionate about the work we do.
June has also taken Ascencia further across the globe. Our dynamic Director, Tess — who you may remember as our in-house social media star from the last edition — embarked on an exciting journey to the Philippines, Thailand, and China. Her mission: to meet with students and agents, cultivating connections that reflect Ascencia’s growing international footprint. Tess, we are proud of your incredible work in building bridges and opening new doors!
And so, to all our students — here’s to a summer brimming with sunshine, discovery, and purpose.
Whether you're winding down from a demanding semester or just beginning your academic adventure with us, this season offers a unique opportunity to grow — intellectually, personally, and professionally. Embrace each challenge not as a hurdle, but as a stepping stone toward your future. Let this be a time of exploration and empowerment, where learning extends beyond the classroom and every experience contributes to the bigger picture of who you’re becoming.
Let’s move forward with curiosity, courage, and an unshakable commitment to lifelong learning — and of course, let’s not forget to have a little fun along the way!
To new milestones & memories ✨

Ozlem Kirici
This May, we are delighted to dedicate our newsletter to one of our inspiring English language students — Ozlem. Ozlem joined our academic community in January with one clear and determined objective: to improve her English. Since then, she has committed herself wholeheartedly to this goal, demonstrating unwavering dedication both inside and outside the classroom.
Originally from Turkey, Ozlem now calls Malta home, where she lives with her family. Her presence in our school has been nothing short of heartwarming. With a gentle, nurturing spirit, Ozlem has become a motherly figure to her peers — always ready with a kind word or a helping hand. Her empathy and care have enriched the learning environment for everyone around her.
Over the past five months, we have witnessed a remarkable transformation. Ozlem has not only made consistent progress in her English proficiency but has also taken full ownership of her learning journey. She embodies the courage it takes to push through self-doubt — a challenge familiar to many language learners — and reminds us all that resilience and determination are the true drivers of success.
Ozlem, we are immensely proud to walk this journey with you. Your growth is a testament to what can be achieved when heart and effort meet. You inspire us all.
So here’s to you, Ozlem — let’s raise a cup of Turkish tea in your honor!
June is dedicated to another member of our family: Eszter – The Heartbeat of Ascencia Malta!
If you’ve ever walked through the doors of Ascencia Malta, chances are the first smile you saw—and the one you remember most—was Eszter’s. But don’t be fooled by the title “Receptionist.” Eszter is so much more. She’s our unofficial student whisperer, the go-to guru for all things Malta, and the friendly force that keeps the campus humming with positive vibes.
Need help figuring out the best bus route? Eszter’s got you. Confused about paperwork or wondering where to get the best SIM card deal? She’s already ten steps ahead. She knows every student by name, remembers their stories, and notices when someone’s having an off day — and she’s always ready with a listening ear, a helpful tip, or a dose of encouragement.
Eszter doesn’t just work at the front desk—she runs the show behind the scenes, making sure everyone feels seen, heard, and supported. From championing punctuality and responsibility to quietly checking in when someone’s missing, she embodies the very spirit of our community.
No matter where you’re from or where you’re headed, Eszter makes Ascencia feel like home. She’s the warm welcome at the start of the day and the reassuring send-off at the end.
So let’s give a virtual hand of applause to Eszter—our anchor, and newly appointed football coach! Go Team Ascencia!
Another English study tip for our dedicated English Students!
Study Tip of the Day: Talk to Yourself—In English !
Yes, you read that right! One of the simplest (and slightly quirky) ways to boost your English fluency is to narrate your day to yourself—in English. Whether you're making breakfast, walking to school, or organizing your desk, try saying things like:
"Now I’m making coffee. I need a spoon. Where’s my mug?"
"I think I’ll wear my blue jacket today—it’s a bit chilly."
Why It Works :
- Builds vocabulary in real-life contexts
- Strengthens thinking and speaking in English
- Boosts confidence when speaking aloud
Pro Tip: Start small. Even just 5 minutes a day can make a big difference!
So go ahead—be your own English conversation partner today. (No one’s judging—we promise!)
