Undergraduate Diploma in Business Administration

This undergraduate diploma programme aims to attract national and international students and to help them become professionals in this field. The programme is designed to reflect current industry practices and research topics and the main goal of this course is to provide a learning atmosphere that is professional, innovative, dynamic, and helpful.

In this programme, students will develop their ability for successful management of organisations, from unit to departmental level to the entire organisation, for those with certain experience. The programme will provide students with a foundation in certain parts of business management, allowing them to get a better grasp of general management and the manager’s responsibility.

  • TARGET GROUP AND ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

    Target Group

      The undergraduate diploma is ideal for Sixth form students and school leavers who have obtained the matriculation certificate with at least two Advanced level examinations and three intermediate ones, or equivalent for international students or students with a Level 4 or Level 5 who are interested in further educational progress.

      In addition, we welcome mature students who are currently employed and wish to enhance their business and administration skills or who wish to follow a career in business. For mature students, five years of work experience and qualifications other than Ordinary level and Advanced level are considered.

      This course meets those who want to obtain a qualification that provides a strong basis in business administration and a grounding for further academic knowledge. This course will focus on the functional areas of administration and management and how those disciplines are put to practice at an operational level within an organisation; furthermore, there will be a connection with the overall corporate strategy to achieve short, medium and long-term objectives.

    Entry Requirements

      For local students: Sixth form students and school leavers who have obtained the matriculation certificate with at least 2 A levels and three intermediate subjects, and at least 18 years of age.

      For international students: A diploma of completed secondary education, a diploma or certificate of a completed final examination for secondary or higher secondary school, or a senior school examination certificate, and at least 18 years of age.

      All students interested in further educational progress must hold a Level 4 or Level 5 qualification with at least 120 ECTS or equivalent.

      Mature students with five years of work experience and qualifications other than Ordinary and Advanced levels are considered, and must be at least 25 years of age.

      Our English language department will interview international students to assess if the English language is up to the academic level, or provide foreign qualifications equating to Common European Framework at B2 level such as IELTS (overall score of 5.5).

      Any certificate that proves digital competencies and skills will be considered an asset.

  • TEACHING, LEARNING, AND ASSESSMENT

    General Pedagogical Methods

    We believe in progressive, practical and dynamic teaching that addresses all of those needs and prepares students for the real world of work. While our lecturers will still play an important role in the classroom, we want our students to play an equally active role in the learning process. When it comes to pedagogical methods, we have included quite a variety of methods, to cater for different learning styles. Although most of the lessons will be taught via face-to-face lectures, we have also included other methods such as case studies, field trips, seminars, workshops and tutorials.

    Learning tools used: TV, DVD player, video projectors, laptops running Windows 10 Pro (equipped with Office Pro Plus Pack, CIEL, EBP, Gantt Project, Sphinx, Adobe CS4 and CS6), printer, WIFI network for secure and individual connection for each student, online library (Scholarvox), a French e-learning platform.

    General Assessment Methods

    When it comes to assessment methods, we have included quite a variety that will allow learners with different learning styles and abilities to complete the programme successfully. Students will also have to prepare individual and team presentations, apart from written examinations. In addition, they will have to submit assignments and write a business report. Participation will carry an overall percentage of the total marks.

    Grading and Progression

    For each module, students are required to achieve the minimum pass mark. Students who fail the module have an opportunity to resit. Should the student fail a second time, they will need to repeat the complete module.

  • EXIT AWARDS

      There are no exit awards or qualifications for completing a specified number of ECTS which is less than the total amount required for completion of studies. Students must complete all 60 ECTS to be awarded the Undergraduate Diploma in Business Administration at MQF/EQF Level 5.
