Teaching and Learning Methods

The module will be delivered through face-to-face lectures with theoretical and real-world practice examples, with face-to-face tutorials whereby relevant literature is reviewed with students and discussions are encouraged.

Assessment Methods

1. Continuous Assessment: Multiple-Choice Exam (25%)

Please include assessment weightings for this particular module. Students will need to complete a 1 hour multiple-choice exam with 25 questions based on the module content.

2. Individual Assignment (35%)

Students will need to complete a 1000 word report on latest trends in training and development for workplaces. The report will include correct referencing and a references section at the end.

3. Group Assignment & Presentation (40%)

Students will be assigned into groups (maximum of 4 persons per group) and will be required to prepare a written assignment (2500 words) that will include:
- A comprehensive learning and development mission and plan for a fictional start-up organisation that is evidence-based

Reference list

Students will then need to formulate this report into a powerpoint presentation in order to deliver it as a 15 minute pitch in front of examiners. All students in the group must take part in the pitch. Students of each group will all be given the same mark (over 30%) to emphasize the importance of teamwork and will also need to rate each other (over 10%) on participation, contribution todiscussions, research and completion of assigned tasks -- an average of the student's overall feedback will be taken as their score over 10%.
