Award in Strategic Leadership

The strategic leadership module provides students with a deep understanding of the key principles and practices of effective leadership. The program is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to lead organisations to achieve strategic objectives. Throughout this module, students will develop a comprehensive and applicable knowledge on leadership style, follower behaviour, and the unconscious actions of leaders in positions of power and influence. In this module, students will explore the complexity of the leadership role including the management of symbolism, ambiguity and strategic change, leadership styles such as servant, transactional, transformational, dictatorial etc. The module will also cover some aspects of emotional intelligence -- particularly those required in leadership such as self-awareness, self-regulation and self-efficacy. Another important topics that will be covered is the dark side of leadership including defensive subconscious processes. Influencing and persuasion strategies in the context of decision-making as well as ethical dilemmas in leadership will also be explored. Students will develop the confidence needed to lead and manage teams, navigate complex business challenges and drive organisational success.
