Award in Principles of Venture Formation

Creating a new enterprise is a challenging task, one that requires specific knowledge as well as general business and entrepreneurial skills. This module provides students with an in-depth understanding of the key elements and stages involved in creating and launching a successful venture. In this module, students will also benefit from identifying the external and internal factors that impact on business start-up. This module will expose students to the process of entrepreneurship and more specifically to the process of opportunity recognition, the elements of business planning and provides hands-on experience in the creation and development of a new business enterprise. Students will apply the knowledge they learn in the classroom to real-world business opportunities and subsequently will develop a more entrepreneurial mindset. Students will learn how to evaluate potential business ideas, develop a compelling business plan, secure funding, and build a strong team to bring their venture to market. Through a combination of lectures, case studies and hands on projects, students will gain the practical skills and necessary to launch and grow a new venture.
