This module seeks to give students the basis for a moral compass in business with a focus on the important emerging Environmental Social Governance (ESG) criteria and frameworks, including the relevant EU Directives to navigate an increasingly complex landscape of responsible business practices and sustainability. - Introduction to Ethics and ESG: covers the significance of ethical business practices and corporate social responsibility (CSR), investigating the concept of ESG and its function in assessing an organization's sustainability and societal influence, and analyzing the ethical quandaries confronted by businesses while emphasizing the necessity for ethical decision-making frameworks. - ESG Frameworks and Standards: provides an overview of prominent ESG frameworks and standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), delving into their essential components and reporting obligations, while also assessing the advantages and hurdles organizations may encounter when implementing ESG frameworks. - EU Directives and Regulations: delves into pertinent EU Directives and regulations that centre on ESG and sustainability,
